Louise Wolsey

Director/Case Manager

Louise qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1996, before gaining hospital-based experience in various clinical fields and going on to specialise in Acquired Brain Injury in 1998. She has clinical expertise and significant experience in Cognitive Rehabilitation and, for eight years Louise was the Clinical Coordinator of an Interdisciplinary Specialist Rehabilitation Team within the NHS whilst also carrying a caseload of patients whose needs were highly complex and challenging. Using a Case Management Approach to pull together and co-ordinate all appropriate services, she ensured the best possible outcome for her patients. Since 2010 Louise has worked in the private sector as a Clinical Case Manager, holding a caseload of clients whose needs cover the whole spectrum of impairment including highly complex medical and psychosocial presentations. In 2004 she qualified as a Registered Intermediary, gaining accreditation with the Ministry of Justice to work with vulnerable witnesses. Louise has trained new Intermediaries assisted in training the Police on working with vulnerable witnesses. Furthermore, she has spoken at numerous conferences on the topic of Intermediaries and other special measures for vulnerable people within the Courts. Louise is a former Trustee and Professional Advisor to Headway Central Lancashire. Furthermore, she holds professional registration with the Health Professions Council and the British Association of Occupational Therapists and is an Advanced Member of The British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers.  Louise is registered with the Institute of Registered Case managers. As Director of the company, Louise is a member of the Leadership Team.  

When not working Louise enjoys watching live music, walks with her dogs and trying her best in pub quizzes.

Katie Kirk

Senior Case Manager

Katie’s background is in Social Work. Born and bred in Wigan, her experience before Case Management was predominantly based around children and adults with learning disabilities or brain injuries. She has extensive experience in the management of large teams of support workers in residential and rehab settings. Katie has worked with children transitioning to adulthood and has experience of working with clients both within their homes and in residential settings. For two years she specialised in working with clients who present with sexualised behaviours and disinhibition, where intervention prevented serious safeguarding issues from occurring. 

In her role as Senior Clinical Case Manager, Katie’s experience includes managing adults and children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities; she has extensive experience in setting boundaries, safeguards, risk management and management of support teams. Katie’s work is regulated by Social Work England, she is a member of BABICM and is registered with the Institute of Registered Case Managers.  Katie is a member of the company Leadership Team, and she has particular responsibility for employee well-being.

In her free time, she likes to spend time walking her dogs, bird watching, the occasional game of pickleball and watching football.  Katie loves a good road trip, especially to the Scottish Highlands.

Michaela Blake

Registered Manager

Michaela is a registered Physiotherapist starting her career in the NHS in 2009. She worked across hospital, residential and community settings including major trauma, neurorehabilitation, brain injury, neurosurgery, respiratory, orthopaedics and musculoskeletal. She has knowledge and comprehensive skills for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex caseloads.  She delivers individualised and client centred rehabilitation programmes including goal setting, functional assessments, equipment provision and education. Michaela easily builds positive therapeutic relationships with clients, their families, and the wider multi-disciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcomes. Throughout her career she has provided mentorship, training, and performance management of staff. Michaela is an experienced Clinical Case Manager, however since 2023 she has led Active Case Management through the process of registration with CQC in her role as Registered Manager.  Michaela sets high standards and has an eye for detail which ensures that our clients receive the best possible care. Michaela is registered with the HCPC and is a member of BABICM. She is registered with the Institute of Registered Case Managers.  Michaela is a member of the Leadership Team at Active Case Management.  

Michaela was born and raised in Salford and has spent time living in New Zealand. She enjoys walking her dog Stanley, listening to live music or vinyl’s, and spending time with her family.

Adam Simpkin

Case Manager

Adam is a Registered Case Manager with the Institute of Registered Case Managers.  He has extensive experience of working with people with acquired brain injury, beginning his career as a Brain Injury Rehabilitation Support Coach in May 2010 at TRU Ltd. During his nine-year employment at TRU, Adam worked in various roles, including Shift Supervisor, Team Leader and Rehabilitation Programme Coordinator. Adam assisted in the facilitation of specialised training, supporting staff in developing their understanding of brain injury and how to provide effective rehabilitation. Adam supported clients in setting person-centred goals, with a focus on goal attainment. He believes in the importance of individuals being empowered and encouraged to make decisions based on their preferences, whilst ensuring dignity and privacy are always respected. Adam has a broad understanding of the impacts that a brain injury can cause, with experience of implementing and coordinating rehabilitation pathways. He has supported individuals with a wide range of complex needs and developed bespoke care plans that are focused on the individual. Adam has worked within multi-disciplinary teams to support the rehabilitation journey of clients, promoting their independence, whilst liaising with the relevant services to facilitate clinical therapy needs. With an approachable nature and calming influence, Adam is highly motivated in achieving the best outcomes for his clients. At Active Case Management, Adam has a leadership role for safeguarding.  

When not working, he enjoys spending time with family and entertaining his  ‘boisterous’ Labrador. He is the club captain for a local football team which Active Case Management is proud to sponsor.  There is no sign of him hanging up his boots just yet.

Kath Hutchinson

Case Manager

Kath qualified as a Social Worker in 2013. Prior to qualifying, Kath worked with informal carers, vulnerable adults with complex needs, as well as older people with dementia and vascular brain injury. This experience helped Kath to develop an excellent understanding of the issues that many carers encounter and how supporting carers to undertake their role is imperative to the well-being of the client. Kath started her Social Work career in adoption services where she developed an in-depth knowledge of the impacts of trauma on brain development. Her role involved supporting children with additional needs, including neurological conditions, sensory processing difficulties, complex emotional and behavioural issues. Kath was instrumental in implementing permanency plans for vulnerable children as part of a multi-disciplinary approach, which involved assessments of their cognitive and physical needs. Kath gained substantial experience of completing professional reports for Family Courts and Professional Panels. Kath acts as a guest lecturer to several universities where she discusses contemporary issues in adoption practice to Social Work students. Kath has applied her skills in a Case Management role since April 2018 and is now a Senior Case Manager with particular responsibility for staff development. Kath manages complex cases and works with adults and children with a wide range of needs at both the pre-settlement and post-settlement stages of litigation. Kath recognises that it is important to ensure that the whole family is supported in order to meet the client’s needs. Kath is an Advanced Practitioner with BABICM and is registered with the Institute of Registered Case Managers. Her professional practice is regulated by Social Work England. 

When Kath is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, visiting new places, volunteering in the community, watching films and the UFC.

Catherine Hudson

Case Manager

Catherine is a Clinical Case Manager with a background in medicine. During her medical training and whilst working as a Doctor, Catherine has been involved in the treatment and care of people with a variety of conditions affecting the brain and nervous system. Having knowledge of the specialist Neurology teams and the whole MDT, Catherine has been part of the planning and delivery of personalised rehabilitation programmes. Catherine has more recently been working in the field of medical negligence, assisting solicitors with the assessment of cases in the early stages of litigation.  Having a friendly and caring nature, Catherine considers all aspects of a client’s life in her assessments, being committed to working with the family and all professionals to maximise the client’s quality of life and achieve their potential.  Catherine is a member of BABICM.

When not working, Catherine enjoys walking with her mischievous springer spaniel and golden retriever, spending time with family, and coaching primary group athletics at her local club. (Don’t stand too close when she blows her whistle!)

Tracy Cleary

Case Manager

Tracy has over 20 year’s experience working in NHS settings as an Occupational Therapist, and more recently within a secondary school supporting students with specific medical needs and as part of the inclusion team. Working across a variety of settings but always working in a client-centred goal and rehab focused way. Her skills as an OT lead nicely into her client centred goal focused Case Management programmes working towards the maximum potential for her clients. Tracy is registered with HCPC and a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.  She is a member of  BABICM. 

Tracy promotes a good work life balance enjoying long walks and socialising with friends and family.

Lynne Adamson

Occupational Therapist

Lynne has over 25 years experience as an Occupational Therapist. She began her career working within hospital and residential settings then in 1992 specialised as part of a Resettlement Team repatriating Adults with Learning Disabilities onto the Wirral. Then in 2003 Lynne joined the clinical team at a residential Brain Injury service in Liverpool where she worked for 16 years.  Lynne’s specialist skills include working closely with Psychologists interpreting standardised cognitive testing against functional daily living performance and assessing and reporting on motor and process skills in relation to daily living activities, including the assessment of cognition through functional activity. Experienced in the assessment and provision of specialist equipment including wheelchairs and seating, Lynne and has worked closely with architects and builders in the design and adaptation of properties to meet the needs of individuals with complex disabilities. She has additionally led in the design and creation of multi-sensory environments and developed behavioural observation recording tools to audit the efficacy of this intervention.  Lynne is registered with the HPCP and is passionate about her career and role as an Occupational Therapist whilst managing a productive work/life balance. 

When not working Lynne enjoys a busy social life including being a member of an acapella group and she tries to keep active by going to yoga and not wasting her gym membership which she frequently does each month. Omm!

Charlotte Morgan

Case Manager In Training

As a Case Manager in Training, Charlotte is gathering experiences and evidence that she fulfils the competency criteria for registration with the Institute of Registered Case Managers.  Charlotte has extensive experience working with patients with complex needs such as severe respiratory conditions, acquired brain injuries, orthopaedic and trauma and stroke patients through working for the NHS across Critical Care and Respiratory services. She has supported and rehabilitated people from being ventilator dependant through to being fit for discharge home, implementing the appropriate community or outpatient-based services to assist patients during their ongoing recovery.  Charlotte is fiercely ambitious on behalf of her Case Management clients, advocating for their needs and wishes and always pushing for the very best outcomes. She has a varied caseload including clients with physical and cognitive needs. Charlotte is incredibly motivated in achieving the best possible outcome for her clients, working to optimise their independence and quality of life wherever possible.

When she isn’t working, Charlotte enjoys Formula 1 and owns a classic car that she maintains herself. (Please overlook if Charlotte has oil under her fingernails!)

Andy Napier

Assistant Case Manager

Andy joined Active Case Management in June 2025 bringing experience gained from working at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and gaining a degree in Psychology.  He has experience in the role of Support Worker, ensuring that his client had the best holiday possible and that all risks were appropriately managed. Andy works alongside Case Management colleagues to provide proactive support to our clients.  His caseload includes people of various ages. Andy has a welcoming nature, is open and friendly and he is keen to make a positive impact to people’s lives.  

In his spare time, Andy enjoys playing football, going to the gym and attending fitness classes. He also likes spending time with friends as well as attending the weekly quiz at his local pub (spoiler alert; he usually wins!)

Liv embodies our commitment to developing the people in our team.  She joined Active Case Management in January 2019 and completed her Business Administration Level 2 apprenticeship before progressing to Assistant Case Manager in September 2021. Now working at a Senior Assistant level, Liv has a wide caseload including adults and children. She is hugely supportive to the teams of support workers whom she manages, enabling them to get the best outcomes for our clients.  Liv is dedicated and creative in her approach with clients, always going the extra mile. 

Olivia spends her free time looking after her horses and spending time with her friends.

Julie

 Julie worked in private special needs education for 15 years before joining Active Case Management in March 2019. Julie’s role is to provide proactive and planned support for Clinical Case Managers which acts in the best interests of the clients as well as being the first point of contact for support workers who work with our clients.  Julie is a member of the Leadership Team and has day to day responsibility for management of our Admin Team.

Julie loves family time, walking her dogs, Moto GP and a pint of San Miguel in her local ale house.

Max gained a degree in Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University and shortly after graduating acquired a role as Data Entry Administrator. Max is responsible for ensuring that all relevant data and records are documented and maintained accordingly. His Psychology qualification stands him in good stead for understanding the cognitive challenges faced by some of our clients and he adapts his approach with clients accordingly.
